This piece, which seeks to highlight the sound palette of the great organ in successive steps, was premiered by Jean-Philippe Merkaert at the Concert Hall in Sapporo (Japan) in November 2007. It resembles a Toccata in its rhythmic and virtuoso character. Based on a repetitive structure proposing an organic development of the initial harmonic material, it gradually leads to a kind of sound saturation tending to translate an "ecstatic dazzle". Indeed, its title is freely inspired by the reading of testimonies of people who have been able to come back to life after a near-death experience (EMI).
Commissioned by the Sapporo Concert Hall; premiered in Sapporo by Jean-Philippe Merckaert on November 17, 2007 - Japan.
