Madrigal I

1958
Composed in 1958, while we still were in the middle of "generalized series" i.e. in a language which had defined a certain number of very strict taboos towards all traditional modes of musical expression, Madrigal I is already a first symptom of a will to go over this simply too antithetic stage and to give oneself the opportunity for example to practice again authentic melodic structures, but whith new aims according to the post-webernian esthetic.  (H.P.)
