ISCM WORLD MUSIC DAYS 2012

The World Music Days are an international festival of contemporary music organized each year in a different country by one of the sections of ISCM (the International Society of Contemporary Music). In 2012, Belgium will host this ‘world expo’ of contemporary music. From October 25th until November 4th 2012 this festival will be held, as a first, in six cities in Belgium, in collaboration with the biggest contemporary music concert halls and cultural organisations of the country: Antwerp (deSingel), Bruges (Concertgebouw), Brussels (Flagey), Gent (De Bijloke, Handelsbeurs), Leuven (TRANSIT Festival) and Mons (Le Manège).

For this edition of the World Music Days, the program is curated by all the partners, instead of one curator.   Through an international Call for works, the festival is an invitation to discover all kinds of different works and composers. These composers are not only from Belgium, but from everywhere in the world.
