Composer's note:

This piece is basically based on a scordatura of the cello, i.e. an unusual tuning of the instrument. The sounds of the open strings (Bb - Gb - D - Ab) were chosen to create, by combining them with their natural harmonics, a harmonic field that resonates and develops throughout the piece.

The title evokes another process widely used in this composition: all the sound images offered by one of the instruments are reflected by the other two, either closely or distantly, or even simultaneously. This piece was originally composed for only two instruments, cello and piano (premiere in Montreal in October 2011). In this new trio version (flute, cello and piano), the play of "reflections" has been multiplied between the three partners.
