Metharcana

Metharcana a été construite à partir de matières destinées à un spectacle chorégraphique. Partant de l'idée que ce type de création joue avec le temps dans un espace, il m'a semblé intéressant de paradoxaliser les cheminements entre danse et musique en jouant avec l'espace dans un temps déterminé par la structure chorégraphique. C'est ce rapport que j'ai tenté de transposer à cette musique de concert; mettre en présence deux univers sonores à priori mal assortis et faire en sorte qu'une mise en scène faite d'analogies morpho-dynamiques rende cette relation possible et suggère une autre écoute: celle d'une voix délaissée, aconcrète.

Metharcana was produced using material intended for a dance production. Starting from the idea that works of this type are based on the use of time within a defined space, I was interested in developing the paradoxical inverse of this interweaving of dance and music-by exploring the use of space within a time defined by the choreographic structure. This is the interaction that I have tried to transpose into this concert piece, by presenting two seemingly ill-matched sonic worlds and treating them with the morpho-dynamic analogies that not only make the relationship viable, but that suggest a different experience-that of listening to the rejected "a-concrete" voice.

This music was created with the help of the French Community of Belgium
